In the 1950’s,
The site on Gardeners Road was a picture theatre and then became a bowling alley in 1961. Brunswick Bowl Mascot closed in 1967 and the building was used as office space for the Australian Atomic Energy Commission. When the site was purchased in 1992, the original plan was to make it into a wedding reception lounge.
When renovations commenced, the original wooden lanes were found under the carpet!! The decision was to scrap the idea of a function centre and turn it back into a bowling alley. Manhattan Superbowl has been operating for over 30 years.
Since 1993,
Manhattan Superbowl is Sydney’s only retro themed Tenpin Bowling Alley together with the Newmarket Hotel located next door provide Sydney’s only Pub n Bowl venue.
Take a ride down “Route 66” and immerse yourself in the rare memorabilia, witnessing a revival of those good ‘ol days. It’s easy to find your way over to any of the 24 bowling alleys, drinks at the Pontiac Bar, sun drenched Beer Garden, Bistro, or playing the arcades.
Whether it’s a Corporate event, Social Event with friends or Children’s Party, Manhattan Superbowl has a package for any occasion.

We advise to wear our funky bowling shoes. Otherwise, we allow flat sneakers/trainers.

Each party comes with a dedicated party host to take care of the experience, so you can focus on the celebrations and making lifelong memories. Our delicious menu selections are a favourite of both kids and adults at the party!

How much does it cost to bowl?

How many people can bowl on one lane?
The maximum number of persons per lane is 6. If you were to have 7 people, we would allocate 2 lanes.
Do you need to wear bowling shoes?
We would always recommend bowling shoes. Wearing slick bowling shoes helps you slide while you’re bowling. It enables you to have a smoother motion while shooting the ball. The soles of bowling shoes are super slick, but the heels of the shoes are typically made of rubber. The heels help you stop sliding after you throw your ball. Street shoes will stick instead of slide as bowling shoes would and could cause you to fall, twist a knee, etc.
However, we do allow guests to wear flat sneakers, preferably white soles.
Do I need to book?
We recommended to book in advance which is easily available online for groups up to 15 people
Walkins are accepted subject to availability and venue capacity
For groups 15+, contact our functions team. A deposit will be required to secure your reservation.
Food & Beverage
As we are associated with the Newmarket Hotel, we have a large variety of meal options which include wood fired pizzas, nachos, chicken wings, and much more! All meals from the pub can be served at the bowling alley Diner or at the lanes while you bowl.

No outside food and beverage of any kind is permitted to be brought into the venue. We ONLY allow you to bring a birthday cake!
Is parking available?
Our private carpark is located off Tramway Street. Street parking is also available
Minors
We welcome minors and under 18’s in our venues before 10pm.
Persons under the age of 18 are permitted in the venue after 10pm if accompanied by a responsible adult.
A responsible adult is defined as a person who is over the age of 25 years
Identification
Please note, if you wish to purchase alcohol or be in a licensed area of our venue you will need to have a valid form of ID.
You will also need a valid ID to enter or be in our venue after 10pm.
